Open your eyes big big

Can you spot Wally? I have been busy with this game for the past 2 days. Armed with my tool(magnifying glass) and my twisted eyes, i've been searching high and low for Wally. Then my husband took the book and just point it randomly, there's Wally! He found it almost instantly! T_T

He said that his senses had improved after reading this book. He bought it for only RM5 at Carrefour sale. The researchers will play a video and ask someone to watch it. In the middle of the video, the gorilla will come out and dance for a while. Most people didn't realize the gorilla until they replay it.

This is a cartoon about Wally. Ha ha ha.

Wally pictures are copied from Fanpop.

because it's free

According to this book, we will always fall for free stuff. We like free stuff because it doesn't involve any major risks. If it turned out that we didn't like that stuff at all, it's ok because it's FREE!

Then i saw an ad at a local newspaper with this picture.

You have to spend RM8000 to get this for free. RM8000??!! It was stated that the retail price is RM1299.

Some of us (including me) are so clouded with the word free that we will spend, spend, spend and say it's ok i can get free Romero Britto's trolley bag. On a different perspective, i can just go online shopping/ whatever shops that sell this bag and buy it.

Bitter Heart

I'm listening to this song while typing this. Dam da di dam dam.

Anyway, my young aunt was suppose to get marry by the end of this year. But it didn't worked out. For a good reason though. That guy had asked my aunt whose a counselor to quit her steady job and wear a veil.

I have nothing against housewife. Gosh, if my husband is Richard Branson i would be a housewife too. That guy is only a technician. No intention to look down on him. But dude WHERE IS YOUR BRAIN AND COMMON SENSE??!!

My aunt bought a house for my grandma. Who is going to pay for that montly payment??

My aunt has a car. Who is going to pay for that?
You??

What pissed me off is how he didn't even respect my grandma. This is the time to repay your parents with your hard earned salary. Is there anything wrong with that? Shit mentality i tell you. Shit.
Alim konon. Mengarut. Jadi kalau mak engkau tiada rumah, duduk di bawah pokok lah? Hantar ke rumah orang tua? Ohh tidak mengapa asalkan beriman kepada Tuhan? Double mengarut.
Pfff....

Boiling

My office email has been flooded with this stupid messages from African countries. Hate it. Telling me that i am supposed to receive a certain amount of money if only i give them my particulars details. Grr..... Berjuta-juta dolar kepala hotak engkau, kalau sebanyak tu duit di negara miskin tu rakyat ko takkan terkebulur.

Sometimes they can come up with the most ridiculous reason to attract and scam people.

1) My email address had been attached to an inheritance file from Nigeria. He wanted to give me $6.8m. Walau..eh...... I don't have to work for the rest of my life!

2) My surname is the same with some dead old rich african guy. They've been looking for me for so many years. Hello!!? Sejak bila aku berbangsa aprika?!! I have a chinese surname like THOUSANDS other in China.

3) My father (the email sender) had died. He left me berjuta-juta lemon. My uncle did not know about this. Please help me with the transactions and immunity. Bla bla bla. Cakap macam aku ni diplomat.

4) Nearer to our shores. That Maybank scam. I keep on receiving it a few times. But i know it fishy because:-

KEPADA PERSATUAN PENIPU MAYBANK

NO 1. AKU TIDAK ADA AKAUN MAYBANK. STUPID.

NO.2 AKU TIDAK PERNAH MENDEDAHKAN EMAIL OFIS UNTUK URUSAN PERIBADI.

Ok Done.

You

Jealousy is such an ugly thing. It's like a second layer of your skin resurfacing once in a while like a green monster. One thing i learned since i was small is to read other people's face just a few seconds before they changed it. I saw your face. I saw that green monster inside you. I couldn't care less. Your mediocre life doesn't interest me much.

Coconut go nuts!

Being a full time working-in-a corporate-world wife is a constant battle. Especially during this Ramadan season i have to think of new recipes and ideas on what to cook. My mother in law called and told my husband that she's been cooking Ayam Golek. My hubby 'terliur' and so now i'm on a quest to find a good ayam golek recipe and cooked it. One thing i didn't like is SANTAN. I almost HATE everything with santan inside it expect for curry and bubur pulut hitam.

I think it's my fault too because i've been cooking chinese food, western, all....... this while and also some malay dishes without SANTAN.

Gah, i'll just cook it for my husband and make some chinese herbal soup for myself.

Santan oh santan.....

Update: Ok maybe that ayam golek didn't out that bad at all.

Gangster! (Tidak berkenaan)

I'm just a gigolo.

I enjoy this song from Louis Prima. It's so funny!! "Won't some sweet mama come and rescue me?Cause I ain't no bad." That always crack me up.

He reminds me a lot of Louis Armstrong and if i'm not mistaken he is the the one who sang that monkey song from Jungle Book.

Money makes my world go flat

2 years ago my dad made his will with a lawyer. I never ask what i will get. Honestly i don't care. Today my mum called and say she is going to make a will too. Suddenly, i'm bursting with tears. Definitely not a good way to start my day.
I dread that day will come. Semoga Allah panjangkan umur.

Go Go Hokaiddo!!

I almost had a chance to go to Tokyo and Osaka. Official trip with a friend who had been living in Hokaiddo previously and fluent in Japanese. You can count on my nihongo as you can count on rats to start reading newspaper.
This trip is personal for me (after London) because of him. HIM.

Alas, perhaps next time sensei.

Soto Banjar so help me God

I'm trying so hard to concentrate on finishing my blog article about The Best Advice You Never Heard From Your Parents. I really do. But i'm so hungry. Every single minute. It doesn't help that i'm so kepoh about the food at Rasa Malaysia.

While looking for inspiration on what to cook tonight, i saw a recipe on how to make Soto Ayam. Suddenly thunder strike me and i thought hey why don't i cook my Grandma good old recipe of Soto Banjar. (almost the same like Soto Ayam).

I'll try and post the recipe tomorrow together with pictures.

Hari ini dalam sejarah!!

Banjar is actually a race from duh Banjarmasin, Kalimantan. My great grandma came from that place but i've never been there. The only line that link us is well the food. Soto Banjar is served on special ocassion at my grandma's home especially during Raya or kenduri.

Anyway, do you ever feel like you are so hungry.....that if you don't eat like NOW, you can die of hunger?

What i bought from London

No sale because summer has not arrived yet. But the reason i went to London is not because i want to shop. If i want to do a lot of shopping i better go to Bandung or China. Well i just want observe, absorb and learn about the culture, history at the most popular city in the world.

I believe that whenever we read book, our imagination will start working.

How does it feel to walk on a dark alley?

How does it feel to step on the cobbled street?

How does it feel to walk around a nice English garden?

Renaissance had given a deep impact on Europe. So many books. So many things to learn. Art, science, everything......

I want to have a taste of it.

So i just bought books. I know it sound so boring.

haiku

I know!! Pride and Prejudice again. Shuddup.

Someone ask me to buy these.

My favourite. I like landscape pictures from the Impressionism.

I even saw some art students at National Gallery, sitting in front of Van Gogh's picture and started drawing. So cool!!

A teacher and a group of students discuss about this painting by Renoir called The Umbrellas.

To be an art student is fun!!

So i didn't buy any dress, handbags etc. All i did is gain some knowledge and i feel so good about it.

London

So.... finally have the mood to blog about it. A happy trip but i so lazy to blog about it. Sigh.....

*Happy mode.*

This is......

This bulding is......

I forgot. T_T

Nevertheless, check out the architecture of this special bulding. Gothic style baby.

At Hyde Park Corner. I think that's the Japanese Embassy. (I think ok) Very near to our MSD already.

London eye with murky waters.

Tower Bridge with murky water.

A bookstore at Charring Cross Station. Very near to Trafalgar Square. If you can walk like hell.

Cutie cab.

He said Suri kirim salam.

Inside the National Potrait Gallery. Favourite place. Free lagi.

British Museum. Free juga.

Big Ben and my tour bus.

Outside Buckingham Palace.

The details of Peter Pan Statue.

Hyde Park.

Hyde Park on a cold Spring Day.

There's a fountain too.

Batu Keras London.

Haih... menyesal plak tak beli satu.

Observation:
  • Some people are friendly. While others are rude.
  • So many foreigners/tourist.
  • A lot of Halal food outlet.
  • So many non-caucasian British. No wonder they feel so intimidated.
I mean siap tunjuk kat screen apa nama bus station ni. Naik bas di KL memang hampeh.
  • Sejarah yang berkurun lam dan DIREKOD. Kesian Melaka.
  • Jangan risau kalau sesat. it is so easy to walk around central London. Just find the travel guide that shows which tube to take for a particular place.

Contoh:

Stadium Chelsea. ( Sorry lupa lagi nama tempat sebenar) Tube: Fulham Broadway. Bawak keluar anda punya tube map.

(ok dah goggle- Nama sebenar stadium, Stamford Bridge- Home of Chelsea Football Club).

  • Kalau nak beli perfume murah boleh beli di Whiteleys Shopping Centre. dekat dengan MSD. Ada satu sahaja kedai perfume muslim pakistan punya.

Contoh

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. (yang besar) On sale. 9 pound.

Perfume britney Spears. 12 pound. Cari yang on sale ok.

  • Boleh juga cari di kedai2 farmasi terdekat.

Ok that's all for today. If you want to know a nice place to stay- 30-35 pound for 1 night. Boleh masak, malaysian muslim punya rumah/bilik sewa. Bolehlah tinggalkan komen. Untuk yang hantu sukan, rumah ini dekat dengan Wimbledon.

The Parrot, the Cat and the Fish.

I' m in my worst mood today. Just scolded a few boys who simply throw rubbish at the parking lot. The dust bin is just around the corner. Luckily they pick it up or you will see me screaming like a banshee.

Attachment. I hate it because it will always makes me cry. I have 2 pets previously and i cried when they died. So i think, ok maybe i'll buy some fishes and put it in a bowl. Fishes have short term memory and it's not like i can pet them right? WRONG!!

My favourite fish died last sunday. Found at the bottom of my aquarium. She was with me for 3 years and very i mean very attentive of her surrounding area. She moves to 3 different houses with me. When i bought her, i just put her into a large bowl. Than she grew bigger, so i switch her to a RM100++ aquarium with her own house and some 'garden'. Got other friends somemore. I also put some sunken ship for her own private playground.

I don't think i have any regrets. The night before she died, i check on her and gave her supper, twice.

I have tried to give her the most comfortable environment. So i think we will meet again on Judgement Day and i hope she will put on a good word for me.

Mr Darcy. May you rest in peace at the back of my home.

Alkisah pemilik kedai buku sombong nak m. di Charing Cross

Office politics certainly makes you exhausted. Cat fights had been happening among some collegues. A don't want to talk to B coz B didn't ask A to join B for lunch. And the list goes on. I kind of having a deja vu because this is what exactly the same thing that happened during my uni days.

I was called nasty and straightforward because i am the just- say -anything -i -didn't -like- in front -of -your- face type. I told around my dorm mates that i am a loner and i tend to do things by myself.

Let say that it is also a blessing for my friends because if that situation happen again, A will surely knock my door and ask if i'm going for a lunch or dinner and say that she wants to join me. Sure, i said. No problem and I chuckled.

My achievements are not that great. But i can assure you that i can walk to a restaurant with confidence, order the food, eat it alone, and enjoy every moment of it.

A solid proof that i am a loner:

Books i got from the Carrefour Clearance sale. RM5 each!! A way much better deal actually rather than going to Charing Cross Road unless you are looking for some out of print antique books.

Simple and quick chicken recipe.

Recipe yang simple dari ibu untuk ibu-ibu di luar sana yang berkerjaya dan tidak ingin mengotorkan dapur.

Clean some chicken breast. Add honey, pepper, mixed herbs, tabasco, chopped garlic, oyster sauce, salt, HP sauce. Let it cool down it the fridge. Peram jangan tak peram. Dulu peram assignment sekarang peram ayam.
Campaklah cherry tomatoes, potatoes, onions (sliced), mushroom, pepperbell (is this what you called it? Malas nak check. Sorry. Ala yang warna kuning, oren, hijau tu. Tak pedas sangat pun tapi orang putih kalau lepas makan tu macam lepas makan sambal belacan power) into the pan like the picture below. Add butter untuk yang tidak berdiet. (I insist you put some butter)

Add a dash of olive oil.

Put it in the oven. I think i set it for 45 minutes, 180c. But you can always check your oven's manual book. (Aku tau kau suda buang) Maybe between 180c to 200 c should be ok.

Siap!!

Spagetti goreng resepi Ibu ibu

Here it goes......
Chopped onions, garlic, shallots and ginger.Cherry tomatoes and mushrooms.

Take, buy, steal or borrow it from your neighbour- Tabasco and some dry mixed herbs. If you have the fresh ones lagi bagus. Memandangkan ibu tidak tinggal di UK, rempah ratus yang kilang proses pun oklah.

Mix it with Squidward.A dash of pepper.

Boil the spaghetti mee according to the instructions provided. Green is the new black. So we use olive oil.

Stir fry the onions, Squidward and last but not least spaghetti. Salt mengikut rasa masing-masing.

Tadaa!!

Tips: Can add a dash of fresh lemon juice (bukan juice dalam botol ok, juice yang diperah) to add some flavour to it.
Sekian sahaja resepi daripada persatuan ibu-ibu.

A mad tea party

Is it ok to drink english breakfast tea with sugar?

I went to Marriott last night for dinner. (Free!) So i decided to try out the english breakfast tea ( yes i know breakfast) and wanted to put sugar. But the manager say that it was wrong and that i should put honey.

So this morning i frantically search for clues in the internet. Being a malaysian, teh tarik is always the best, but i do not want to humiliate myself in London later. Various sources from internet says that you can drink it with sugar and milk.

This is a tip from http://ezinearticles.com/ -How to make a British Cup of Tea.

· English Breakfast - hearty black tea blended to go with milk and sugar
· Irish Breakfast - similarly, a blend of black tea to drink with milk
· Earl Grey - a robust black tea blend, very popular. Good with lemon, too, instead of milk

Any of these can be drunk black as well as with milk.

The interesting part it when i found this article from http://www.veg-world.com/.

The writer Vicky Nelson asked his British friend about making the perfect cup of tea- British Style.

How do you take it?

Finally, I asked my friend whether British tea should be drunk with cream, and with sugar or honey.

"Most Britons drink tea with a little milk, but never with cream or the high-fat milk that Americans put in their coffee. Low-fat milk is a much better choice. But by all means drink it black if you prefer.

"Adding sugar to tea seems to be going out of fashion, although many people still do it. If you do add sugar," he finished, "make sure it is white sugar. Brown sugar might be OK in coffee, but somehow it never tastes right in tea. As for putting honey in tea, if you tried to do that in Britain, you'd be laughed out of the tea shop."

Mmmh... konpius. konpius.
